Tarot:
The Fool, Queen of Swords, 8 of Pentacles
I am taking a tarot course right now, playing catch up would be more accurate. It is Archetypal Tarot School from Mariana Louis (Persephone’s Sister). I recently finished The Fool’s lesson and I was not well when I went through it, but it was so different from anything I had experienced in terms of understanding The Fool, which was very cool. I do think today’s message is inspired by this thinking mixed with my former understanding.
Essentially, this Fool is ready to jump with little to carry. Why so little? Anything you need you will pick up on the journey. Let go of the baggage. Let go of the control, and embrace the journey. The journey will provide answers and you will get what you need. Overall, ANYTHING YOU NEED YOU WILL PICK UP ON THE JOURNEY! (At least that is what is being yelled in my head as I gaze at this image.)
The Queen reminds The Fool to show discernment. Don’t act recklessly because you are a fool. Be wise in your explorations. Make logically backed choices, maybe with a little wiggle room because it is The Fool. BUT not 100% reckless. Did that make sense? Follow your heart within reason. If you really believe in the risk, it could be worth it. I am having a hard time finding the best way to word this. Take the risk, but don’t be stupid about it?
And the 8 of Pentacles here reminds us that the journey provides because your effort reaps the rewards aligned to this venture. Don’t jump in if you are not willing to put in the effort along the way. This is not a vacation. I think this aspect reflects how the Queen comes into play too. She can help focus the dedication of the Fool’s work into something worthwhile.
An Odd Oracle:
Hate
This is the first time I have ever used this deck. And I was absolutely startled by this card. Almost speechlessly so. (Is there a writer version of speechless?). Because yeah, there is so much hate right now it can be suffocating. So, I zoomed into the image (I moved the card toward my face). I expected the brain to have some sort of rot in the plants. (I have low lighting where I am doing this.) No. It is snakes among leaves. Are those leaves poisonous? Possibly, hate can seep into a soul like a poison and corrupt one’s soul, one’s essence, one’s worldview. However, I would like to focus on the SNAKES. What do snakes do? SHED THEIR SKIN. What should you do at full moons? RELEASE. What negativity are you holding onto that it is time to release? Do not let it poison you. It could be something you do not label as hate, but it is heavy on your heart. It is holding you back and you need to free yourself from this burden.
A vision:
You May Never Know
UGH. This is such a frustrating card. Because like yeah, but WHYYY. I like to know. I think most people like to know. I definitely think this builds off the Hate card above. Whatever is having you hold that burden may be clawing into you because you want to know what happened or why…any question word really. But it is not your information to know. You have to free yourself. Sometimes there are no answers. You have to make the best choice for you and be okay with the unknown.
The Fool embraces the unknown with all his heart. With this burden you hold yourself back from the journey because you are too stuck in the past to move forward without baggage. You would be providing something you do not need for this journey. Like bringing winter clothes on a beach trip.
